The different ministries of Queens Bible Church are compelled by a common fervor to provide everyone a steadfast biblical guidelines on life in general. We are confronted with difficult situations on a daily basis, and tough decisions have to be made in the midst of few, confusing, and confounding alternatives. The Holy Word of God furnishes us with sound, stable, and reliable instructions that brings the clarity and certainty we need when we find ourselves at life-changing crossroads.

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM / BOARD OF TRUSTEES


Nature:
Members of the Admin/BOT shall be composed of the Chairman or Ministry Leader, Assistant Leader, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Officer and Auditor. The trustees shall be of legal age and professing members of the QBC.

Organization:
The membership of the Admin/BOT shall be appointed to their positions through solicitation of their services based on gifting and availability and shall hold office for a minimum of two years up to a maximum of four, after which they can be given a break of at least one year before being assigned the same position if requested. As partner in ministry, the spouse of the ministry leader is included in the team and may be assigned a specific job related to the ministry responsibilities.

The BOT shall meet once every other month at such times and places as shall be designated in a notice to each trustees and the pastor(s) at a reasonable time prior to the appointed time of the meeting. A majority of the members of the BOT shall constitute a quorum. Special meetings may be called by the Chairman of the Admin/BOT or in his absence by the Vice-Chairman. Special meetings may also be called at the request of the Pastor, or at least by two (2) members of the BOT.

Primary Function:
The Administration Ministry/Board of Trustees shall be responsible for the legal issues, finances and budget, and facility.

Scope of Responsibilities:
The Administration Ministry/Board of Trustees -

  1. shall have the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property owned by QBC and all property and equipment acquired by QBC or by any of its ministry; provided that the BOT shall not violate the rights of the pastor(s) and/or the ministries in the use of any of the said property for religious services or other proper meetings or purposes recognized by the law, usages, and customs of the QBC, or permit the use of said property for religious or other meetings without the consent of the pastor(s).

  2. shall review annually the adequacy of the property, liability, and insurance coverage on church-owned property, building, and equipment. The BOT shall include in its report the result of its review and any recommendations it deem necessary.

  3. shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of church-owned property, building and equipment.

  4. shall be responsible for legal issues of the church and shall act upon the issues as deem necessary.

  5. shall be responsible for hiring or dismissing church personnel, i.e., youth pastor, cleaning person, church secretary.

  6. shall plan, promote, subscribe and administer the Church budget and shall review periodically the expenditures of the Church to ensure correspondence with budget allocations and budget adjustments.

  7. shall submit reports on the Church's life and work to the congregation. This includes reports on the spiritual growth of the congregation and its outreach program, as well as the financial reports of the proposed budget for the ensuing year.

  8. shall discuss and resolve whatever problems and requests coming from the congregation or group or individuals outside the Church.

  9. shall exercise such other duties affecting the pastoral charge not assigned to any other ministry.

WORSHIP TEAM


Nature:

The Worship team shall be led by a Deacon or Ministry Team Leader and shall be composed of program leaders/coordinators to handle the operation of the ministry. The Worship team may create such other programs as may be found necessary and shall appoint its program leaders. It shall prepare and present reports and recommendations with the Pastor and execute their plans upon consensus. It shall remain informed on current methods, materials, principles, procedures and promotions related to the worship program of the Church.

The membership of the Worship Team shall be appointed to their positions through solicitation of their services based on gifting and availability and shall hold office for a minimum of two years up to a maximum of four, after which they can be given a break of at least one year before being assigned the same position if requested. As partner in ministry, the spouse of the ministry leader is included in the team and may be assigned a specific job related to the ministry responsibilities.

Primary Function:
The Worship Ministry, in collaboration with the Pastors, is responsible for planning, conducting, evaluating and coordinating congregational worship activities of the Church.

  1. It shall ensure punctual and prompt implementation of all scheduled worship activities of the Church.

  2. It shall provide staff leadership to the entire worship program of the Church.

  3. It shall be responsible in preparing the ministry's budget allocation for the current fiscal year.


Scope of Responsibility:
The Worship Ministry shall function in three areas, namely, Order, Operation, and Special Events, with coordinators and corresponding responsibilities:

Order - Maintains order in all the worship activities of the Church including Worship Service and Junior Worship.

  1. Ensures that the Church facility is prepared for worship. Preparations include the proper arrangement of altar items, seats and Bibles for the congregation, ornamental items such as plants and flowers, Church announcements and various ministry items at the receiving area, and Order of Worship programs. They also include the technical aspect of the worship experience such as the sound system, overhead projectors, lighting, musical instruments, and security system.

  2. Ensures that the worship service starts and ends on time, and spans within the allocated time.

  3. Ensures that as worshippers enter the Church facility, they are directed to their seats in an efficient fashion by the ushers.

  4. Ensures that the Church facility is conducive to worship by monitoring such factors that contribute to a meaningful and effective worship like peace and quiet, and room temperature. Assigned men will be responsible in upholding the proper Church atmosphere during the worship service.

  5. Ensures that the Church facility’s order and cleanliness is maintained after the worship service. Ushers will be responsible to clean and arrange the altar and seating areas as soon as the worship service ends.


Operation - Ensures an efficient process of implementing the Order of Worship.
  • Order of Worship

  1. Coordinates with the Pastors in planning and preparing the Order of Worship program.

  2. Schedules ushers, worship leaders, offertory leaders, special music, and flower offerings.

  3. Enlists and trains laymen to lead and assist in the various parts of the worship service. The training ensures that trainees know and understand their roles and responsibilities.

  4. The Ushers will direct worshippers to their seats in an efficient fashion, hand programs to worshippers as they are seated, collect tithes and offerings, and clean the worship facility as soon as worship service ends.

  5. The Worship Leader will prepare the congregation to worship by leading in a responsive reading of the call to worship, and in an opening prayer.

  6. The Offertory Leader will challenge the congregation to give to God’s kingdom through tithes and offerings, and offer a thanksgiving prayer.

  7. Ensures proper time management in all the activities on the day of worship to allow for smooth transition from one activity to the next. A buffer of fifteen (15) minutes between activities is ideal. The activities on the day of worship include the worship service, Sunday School, and special meetings and/or rehearsals.

  8. Organizes child care during worship service.


  • Music Ministry

  1. Oversees the music ministry of the Church. The music ministry includes the various choirs, namely, Adult Choir, Seniors Choir, Children’s Choir, the instrumental ensemble – Hand Bells, and the Praise and Worship Team.

  2. Coordinates with the music ministry in selecting hymns and praise songs for worship.

  3. Organizes training for new members of the Praise and Worship Team.

  4. Coordinates with the Pastors in recommending training for leaders of the music ministry.


  • Communion

  1. Prepares, collects, and cleans the communion elements.

  2. Ensures efficient distribution of communion elements by identifying the best order of passing out the elements, procuring more communion articles, and assigning more men to each seating area.


  • Budget

  1. Prepares and administers the worship ministry’s budget.


Special Events - Organizes special events of the Church. An ad-hoc (special) committee and/or coordinator shall be appointed to organize, plan and delegate tasks to the appropriate ministry or volunteer group.

  • Candlelight Service

  • Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Everybody’s Birthday, Youth Day, Baccalaureate Day

MINISTRY TEAM


Nature:
The Ministry team is formed to fulfill one of the church vision statements: A church of MINISTERS giving glory to God by carrying out the Great Commission and meeting the needs of one another in Queens and in outlying areas of Metropolitan New York City.

The main purpose is to serve God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit and serve our fellow believers and others. The ministry will be led by a volunteer team leader (or deacon) who will choose different program leaders in coordination with the church Pastors.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  1. Organize and maintain age groups in the church such as: Seniors, Men, Women, Young Adults (college and young professionals) and Youth; ensure that each group has a set of officers and planned activities to promote christian growth.

  2. Hold a survey among church members to discover their God-given gifts and will organize programs to develop and enhance each individual gifts.

  3. Responsible for the Prayer Ministry of the church which includes the following: weekly prayer meetings, monthly prayer breakfast, prayer rallies, prayer walks.

  4. Organize and maintain a youth and family counseling ministry.

  5. Organize and maintain training and seminars that will promote the nature of the ministry.

  6. Develop and maintain C.A.R.E (Caring, Admonishing,Reaching-out, and Evangelizing) groups to help build up service to one another.

DISCIPLESHIP TEAM


Nature:
The Discipleship team shall be led by a Deacon and shall be composed of program leaders/coordinators to handle the operation of the ministry. The ministry may create such other programs as may be found necessary and shall appoint its program leaders. Shall prepare and present reports and recommendations with the Pastor and execute their plans upon consensus. And shall remain informed on current methods, materials, principles, procedures and promotions related to the discipleship program of the Church.

Primary Function:
The Discipleship Ministry shall be responsible for the spiritual nurture of the church by providing opportunities for spiritual growth centered in the study of God's Word with strong emphasis in discipleship and mentoring programs.

  1. It shall provide staff leadership to the entire discipleship program of the Church.

  2. It shall assist other program leaders in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive discipleship ministry program that supports the mission, vision and core values of the Church.

  3. And it shall be responsible in preparing the ministry's budget allocation for the current fiscal year.

The Discipleship Ministry shall function in three programs, namely, Nurture, Training, Special Events, with coordinators and corresponding responsibilities:

Nurture Program - Created for the spiritual nurture of church members through sound teaching of God's Word.
Sunday School (Children and Adults)

  1. Evaluates and recommends educational and curriculum materials available, and leads the Church in selecting the most suitable.

  2. Delegates scheduling of Sunday School leaders and teachers of all age groups.

  3. Recommends available training or educational programs for Sunday School leaders and teachers of all age groups.

  4. Evaluates annually the curriculum materials to adapt with the culture of the church.

  5. Recommends annual budgetary needs.


Training Program - Created to develop, evaluate and recommend special educational and training projects such as seminars and conferences for various age groups in the church. A special coordinator shall be appointed to organize, plan and delegate tasks to appropriate ministry or volunteer group.

  • Leadership Training


Special Events Program - Created to organize special programs for the church. An ad-hoc (special) committee and/or coordinator shall be appointed to organize, plan and delegate tasks to appropriate ministry or volunteer group.

EVANGELISM TEAM


Nature:
The Evangelism Team shall be led by a Deacon/Ministry Team Leader and shall be composed of program leaders/coordinators to handle the operation of the ministry. The ministry may create such other programs as may be found necessary and shall appoint its program leaders. Shall prepare and present reports and recommendations with the Pastor and execute their plans upon consensus. And shall remain informed on current methods, materials, principles, procedures, and promotions related to the evangelistic program of the Church.

Primary Function:
The Evangelism Team shall be responsible for leading the Church in keeping "The Great Commission" as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matt 28: 18- 20; making sure the Church remains true to its message and calling.

Together with the Missions Ministry, it shall be responsible in creating and sustaining missions awareness to all members of the Church.

  1. It shall continue to seek, evaluate and recommend start of new mission work.

  2. It shall provide staff leadership to the entire evangelism and mission program of the Church.

  3. It shall assist other program leaders in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive evangelism and missions program and policy that supports the mission, vision and core values of the Church.

  4. And it shall be responsible in preparing the ministry's budget allocation for the current fiscal year.

Evangelism Program - Promotes the evangelistic program of the Church.

  1. Works closely with the Pastor in preparing the overall plan of the evangelistic work of the Church.

  2. Works closely with the Pastor and other ministries in creating or providing a program of training members in Evangelism.

  3. Seeks and identifies members with the gift of evangelism.


Missions Program - Develops and sustains missions awareness to all members of the Church.

  1. Creates and establishes appropriate policy regarding the Church's missions support, extent, and involvement.

  2. Works closely with the Pastor in identifying, creating or joining potential missions opportunities.

  3. Coordinates and communicates with all our missions partners here and abroad, especially those that we are supporting financially, for regular updates and prayer requests.

  4. Informs the Church regularly of any development in our missions endeavor and provides or relays status report on each of our missions partners.

  5. Responsible in creating missions awareness to all members of the Church.


Special Events Program - Organizes special programs of the church. An ad-hoc (special) committee and/or coordinator shall be appointed to organize, plan and delegate tasks to the appropriate ministry or volunteer group.

  • Evangelistic concert(s)

  • Street evangelism

  • Evangelistic training and equipping with emphasis on follow-up, follow-through to discipleship, and counseling

  • Missions Sunday - Promotes missions and gathering of support

  • Missions Trip – local and abroad such as World Changers

FELLOWSHIP TEAM


Nature:
The Fellowship Team is in existence to reflect one of our core values, including:  Bible-centered teaching, Christian Faith and Living, Excellence, Fellowship, Follow-up, Giving, Missions, People, Prayer, and Service. The Body of Christ, the church, is made up of individual members, each one growing and maturing up into the Head of the church, who is Jesus our Lord, God and Savior.  Experiencing warm, meaningful, edifying fellowship with one another serves as the "glue " which binds us together as one body.  As each member comes to learn and discover that our unity is not merely is association or friendship, but rather in our eternal identity in Christ Alone.

Primary Functions:
The Fellowship Team shall be led by trusted and faithful leaders including, a Deacon, Coordinators and collaboration with our Pastors.  The goal will be to include every person in meaningful, God-honoring interaction that brings a vitality and life to the Body of Christ.  As each member becomes involved in all aspects of church life including Worship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Ministry, and Discipleship, the bond of unity in Christ our Lord, God and King will be experienced in genuine Christ-like fellowship.

The Fellowship Team shall meet once every other month at such times and places as shall be designated in a notice to each member and the pastor(s) at a reasonable time prior to the appointed time of the meeting. A majority of the members of the Fellowship Team shall constitute a quorum. Special meetings may be called by the Team Leader of the Fellowship team or in his absence by one of the other coordinators. Special meetings may also be called at the request of the Pastor, or at least by two (2) members of the team.

Scope of Responsibility:
The Fellowship Ministry team responsibilities shall include:

  1. The planning of activities to enhance and nurture a warm and inviting fellowship among church members, guests, "seekers" and anyone else who have been part of purposed outreach programs.

  2. The scheduling of at least two (2) membership classes each year.

  3. Responsible for the promoting of activities of the church including but not to the exclusion of website maintenance.

  4. Responsible for the organizing of the food assignments for fellowship after the worship service(s), and any other church events or functions.

  5. Responsible for the welcoming, ushering and attending to every guest and new members.  This may include all follow-up, and the visitation of members who may be sick and to those who may not have been attending church.

  6. Responsible for promoting programs and activities which are aimed to nourish family relationships in a God - honoring manner.

  7. Responsible for special activities such as Pastor Appreciation Day, Tent Camping, Church Picnics, Broadway shows, among others.


The accomplishments of these expectations can only be done with the appropriate delegation of tasks to those individuals or groups who have demonstrated a giftedness, willingness and faithfulness to the excellent service of Christ our Lord and His Church.
